WOODS ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE NORTH CAROLINA BAIL AGENTS ASSOCIATION (NCBAA) BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Richard A. (Tony) Woods was elected President of the North Carolina Bail Agents Association Board of Directors on Wednesday, August 9, 2006. The election was held at the board meeting in Burlington, following the Association’s annual meeting in Wilmington.
Mr. Woods is the owner of Lanning and Woods, which is located at 207 N. Church Street in Durham. Mr. Woods has 26 years of bonding experience.
He has been a member of its board of directors since its inception and actively works on industry issues. He also serves as President of the Durham Bail Bond Alliance.
The North Carolina Bail Agents Association was created in 1992. Its mission is to protect, preserve and promote the private bail bond industry in North Carolina. Licensed bail agents provide a pretrial release system at no cost to the taxpayer. Bondsmen save the State over a billion dollars a year in inmate housing. Bail Agents further arrest and surrender ninety-eight (98%) percent of their defendants who fail to appear in court at no cost to the taxpayer.
